Salted Nut Bars
Makes 3-4 dozen bars
3 cups flour
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup margarine, softened
2 cups dry roasted peanuts
Topping:
1/2 cup corn syrup
2 Tbsp margarine
1 Tbsp water
6 oz package butterscotch chips
Combine flour, sugar, salt and margarine and blend well. Press into ungreased 15 x 10 jelly roll pan. Bake 350F over for 10-12 minutes. Sprinkle peanuts over the baked crust and gently press in.
While crust is baking, combine topping mixture in saucepan. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour mixture over the baked crust and peanuts. Bake an additional 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Cool and cut into bars.
