Russian Teacakes
1 cup butter or margarine, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2-1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
Powdered sugar for rolling baked cookies
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla thoroughly. Stir flour and salt together and blend in. Mix in nuts. Chill dough.
Heat oven to 400F. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet. (Cookies do not spread) Bake 10-12 minutes until set but not brown. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar. Cool and roll in sugar again. Makes 4 dozen, 1 inch cookies.
