Just like Mom made...

Grandma Myrtle's Rolled Christmas Sugar Cookies

3 cups flour
1 tsp soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup margarine or butter

Mix the dry ingredients together, then cut in the butter like pie crust.

Then add:

2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar
4 Tbsp whole milk or half and half

Mix, but don't over mix, then chill the dough. Roll thin and cut into shapes.

Bake 350F for 8 minutes
Makes buttery, crisp cookies.

Christmas Cookies:
Cut into Christmas shapes and frost with colored powdered sugar frosting.

Frosting:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla
1 to 1-1/2 Tbsp milk
