Granola
6 3/4 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cup sliced almonds or chopped pecans
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp nutmeg
3 Tbls flour
1 1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup Honey, or pancake syrup
Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Mix together the oats, nuts, flour, sugar spices. Melt the butter and mix with the syrup. Pour the butter mixture over the oats and mix well. Bake in two, lightly greased sheet pans. After placing the granola in the oven, immediately reduce the temp to 250F degrees. Cook approximately two hours, stirring every 1/2 hour. Cook until granola tastes done, but not too brown. The oats should not taste raw.
