Flat Bread
Makes 30 rounds
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1 1/4 cups lukewarm water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp soda
1 cup graham flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
5 cups flour
Combine the buttermilk and water, add sugar, soda, baking powder, salt and graham flour. Add the white flour and then the cooled melted butter. Mix well.
Chill in refrigerator several hours or overnight. On pastry cloth, roll a large walnut sized piece of dough until very thin, making about an 8 inch circle. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Cut with serrated cookie wheel into 2 1/2 inch squares. Bake 350F oven until light brown, about 6-8 minutes. Makes a very crisp flat bread that freezes well in covered storage box.
