Just like Mom made...

Caramel Corn

6-7 quarts popped corn (shake un-popped kernels to the bottom and avoid scooping them into the pan) Pour into large broiler pan.

In medium to large sized saucepan, heat:
1/2 cup white syrup
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup margarine

Boil 5 minutes.

Add:
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt (omit if used salted popcorn)
1/2 tsp soda
Stir well and pour mixture over popped corn. Bake in oven at 250F for 15 minutes. Stir well and continue baking for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
